Parks Department

The Blue Cut Nature Center was dedicated as a Nature Center in 1970. Since that time the Wayne County Conservation Environment Council has established trails, parking areas, and other facilities. The trail guides and teacher-leader's guide were developed with the assistance of the Wayne County Soil and Water Conservation District. The Wayne County Parks Department is planning to construct and improve trails and facilities including a trail segment connecting to Canal Way Trail, Construction of a Marsh Observation Tower, Marsh Observation deck, Marsh Walkway, and Handicap access improvements such as construction of ramps at restroom facilities. The Lake Plains RC&D provided assistance in development of a grant proposal to help fund these improvements during the summer of 2001.
